Thank you GBL... if you [and others] don't warn unknowing JW's of this particular criminal, who will? (That's a rhetorical question.)

Knowledge is power.

btw: If this post saves only one child from being molested - good for you!!!

What does it have to do with Jehovah's Witnesses?

If he is on the run, he is not a Witness.

And those news stories are wrong and jaded. It said:"“His role in the church was significant,” Maranda explains, “because we believe that his participation in the church gave him access to his victims.”"

He was a ministerial servant. How does that give him any to more access to any children?

===================================
Sorry, rondem no matter how much you may want them to be, the news stories are not wrong nor are they jaded.

Mother, says the molester. Why don't I take your child in field service tomorrow? You can trust me, after all I hold a position of trust in the congregation. I am a ministerial servant appointed by holy spirit. Your child is safe with me.
Mother gladly hands over child to molester. After all, if he is good enough for Jehovah, and this is the organization that Jehovah deals with exclusively, then what is there to fear?

If you believe that news stories are factual, I have a bridge along with some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

"Mother, says the molester. Why don't I take your child in field service tomorrow?"

Anyone who would want to work in a child, is just plain weird, molestor or not.

But you are really jaded.

Really? How much?

ronde,

not everyone is as wise as you are and some young single mother at the kingdom hall may just welcome male companionship for her son...i mean he would be her christian brother , right, seems harmless enough and the man is rather good looking.

as far as the news stories being jaded or wrong, well i don't think so many of the stations would be in on making up bad news. i don't think they make stuff up, do you?

Ronde, from you favorite movie, here's a direct quote for you: "You gotta be a moron [Ronde]" - Rocky Balboa
Rocky (1976)

Since you seem to take your cues from movies (as opposed to reality, like the "news"), I thought you would understand and appreciate Rocky's viewpoint.

You are right Kimmy Jo.

When I was an MS and an elder, I was often entrusted with taking a young child into the ministry. A young frazzled mother with 2 or 3 kids who had just made it to the group was more than happy to let me take one of her children with me.

This is the reality , this is what happens/happened all the time.

JWs are a trusting people. They are taught all the time that it is the worldly people who are evil and the cong is a haven of peace and security, full of people who have their best interests at heart and who are their family, their brothers and sisters.

Kimmy Jo:

You are right about people being too trusting in the past. Jehovah's witnesses were often naive about such things. So children were abused. And now we are aware and are taking precautions.

LGB is another example of someone abusing others trust, right in the middle of the congregation. This Judas subverts the faith of his so called "brothers" and like Satan, misrepresents himself as someone he is not.

Anonymous said...

Doesn't anyone reading this blog stop to think.....if this LGB is able to disclose "secret" letters sent to the elders of Jehovah's Witnesses, he is an individual who has no problem betraying people he associates with on a subversive spiritual plain.

If he will bold face lie to those he supposedly worships with, how do you think he will treat you bloggers? Do you think he would hesitate to lie and twist things to you? Does this person manifest personal integrity in his life, or is he a betrayer of innocent brothers and sisters who go to the Kingdom Hall to peacably worship their God Jehovah?

The very nature of this "secret" blogger cries out to be challenged. If he lies to those he associates with at a Kingdom Hall, won't he lie to you too?

If he lies to them, he will lie to you.

S said...

Yes, anon, that is very evident about GBLetters.

A fraud through and through.

If GBL is using theocratic strategy in the midst of the congregation, it is only because if he did speak out about his concerns with the Organization, he would be disfellowshipped before he could blink an eye.

There is no way a baptized person who sees something wrong can question JW beliefs or have any complaint listened to without being attacked and labeled as a 'murmurer', 'complainer' 'selfish', 'divisive.'

They do not address the issues. They stigmatize the person, no matter how genuine and well meaning his questions may be.
I know. I have seen it.

Anonymous said...

It's the WT Society that 'lie and twist things'. Their literature is often dishonest, misrepresenting facts, misquoting others to back up their theories. How many brothers check the quotes used in, for example the reasoning bk & trinity brochure? They don't, they trust the organization. This is an abuse of trust. After over 20 years as a witness i'd recommend to others not to believe a word the WT society say. Thank you GBL for what you are doing.

S said...

"If GBL is using theocratic strategy in the midst of the congregation, it is only because if he did speak out about his concerns with the Organization, he would be disfellowshipped before he could blink an eye."

If someone spoke out during a meeting then yes, that is divisive and that one should be expelled. But if someone has concerns take it to the overseers, one would not be expelled for that.

"There is no way a baptized person who sees something wrong can question JW beliefs or have any complaint listened to without being attacked and labeled as a 'murmurer', 'complainer' 'selfish', 'divisive.'"

If it is done correctly. I do it correctly and I am not labeled as such. Anyway, there are no problems with our beliefs so people who question them don't know what they are talking about.

"They do not address the issues. They stigmatize the person, no matter how genuine and well meaning his questions may be.

No, you have not seen it, you have seen wrong attempts at it.

S said...

"It's the WT Society that 'lie and twist things'. Their literature is often dishonest, misrepresenting facts, misquoting others to back up their theories."

That is easy to say but difficult to prove, or you would have done it.

" How many brothers check the quotes used in, for example the reasoning bk & trinity brochure? "

I have, and I found them to be correct.

"They don't, they trust the organization. This is an abuse of trust. "

I am the organization and I trust myself.

"After over 20 years as a witness i'd recommend to others not to believe a word the WT society say. Thank you GBL for what you are doing. "

I would not go that far. I check and research everything. I have found that it is sound. That is why I don't follow the WTS, but I make it personal so when someone criticizes JWs and our beliefs, they criticize me.

S said...

I said, and i will repeat:
"He was a ministerial servant. How does that give him any to more access to any children?"

Note: We do not have youth pastors or Sunday Schools or youth this or that. Thus there are no positions in the congregation that give anyone more access to children. In fact other religions that have the you this and that, do have more access and problems.

So as I stated, any fault is with the parents for giving anyone that access.

Ringwielder said...

And I repeat:

'When I was an MS and an elder, I was often entrusted with taking a young child into the ministry. A young frazzled mother with 2 or 3 kids who had just made it to the group was more than happy to let me take one of her children with me.

This is the reality , this is what happens/happened all the time.

JWs are a trusting people. They are taught all the time that it is the worldly people who are evil and the cong is a haven of peace and security, full of people who have their best interests at heart and who are their family, their brothers and sisters.'

You are out of touch with reality.

Ringwielder said...

Here is a question, an important one. The JWs are very keen on taking principles and lessons from a scripture or scriptures...e.g birthdays..they point to the example of Pharoah and Herod and draw a conclusion from those accounts to condemn birthday celebrations.

So where is the scriptural precedent for JWs making a disfellowshipped one sit at the back of the K. Hall for months? What does the example of the prodigal son show? His father RAN OUT to greet him. He did not have him sit outside for months and then ask for a written request to be reinstated into the family.

That is the way true love acts. That is the lesson from the Bible, a parable of Jesus no less. And if that is not right, how do the JWs apply that parable?

S said...

So Steve, what caused you to stop molesting those kids that you took in the ministry?

Steve asked:
"Here is a question, an important one. The JWs are very keen on taking principles and lessons from a scripture or scriptures...e.g birthdays..they point to the example of Pharoah and Herod and draw a conclusion from those accounts to condemn birthday celebrations."

I think that is a lame reason to not celebrate them. I know of ones who got in a car accident in field service, does that mean we don't drive in the field ministry?
Yeah, stuff happens.

"So where is the scriptural precedent for JWs making a disfellowshipped one sit at the back of the K. Hall for months? "

No one makes a DF'd one sit in back. That is by choice.

"What does the example of the prodigal son show? His father RAN OUT to greet him. He did not have him sit outside for months and then ask for a written request to be reinstated into the family."

The prodigal son was seeking reinstatement.

"That is the way true love acts. That is the lesson from the Bible, a parable of Jesus no less. And if that is not right, how do the JWs apply that parable?"

The application is showing how Jehovah welcomes the repentant ones back. But they have to be repentant first.

Ringwielder said...

'So Steve, what caused you to stop molesting those kids that you took in the ministry?'

That is unbelievably offensive and shows your true nature Ronde.

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

'The application is showing how Jehovah welcomes the repentant ones back. But they have to be repentant first.'

The parable mentions nothing about repentance... remorse maybe, also the fact that he had spent his inheritance and was in dire straits.

How did his father know he was repentant?....Wait a minute, his father pictures Jehovah, who can read hearts, so a group of elders do not have the authority to judge whether a man is repentant or not, and should not be assuming that responsibility. So show me the scriptural precedent for a judicial committee determining repentance and reinstatement.

S said...

Well, Steve,
you are the one that claimed that elders and servants who took kids in the ministry could not be trusted.
And you were an elder who took kids in the ministry.
Thus you either molested them or you didn't, admitting that the situation is not a true one.

"Wait a minute, his father pictures Jehovah, who can read hearts, so a group of elders do not have the authority to judge whether a man is repentant or not,"

Of course they have that authority if they were appointed over the congregation.

" and should not be assuming that responsibility. So show me the scriptural precedent for a judicial committee determining repentance and reinstatement. "

The fact that Jesus' blood covers those that sin and repent. And in 2 Cor 2 is an example.

Ringwielder said...

Nothing in that text about months of shunning before they are allowed back or a committee of elders determining his repentance.

S said...

Then how would you suggest it happen?

Ringwielder said...

I asked how do the JWs apply the parable of the prodigal son, especially in the case of the father running out to meet the erring son?

It shows the contrast between the loving method Jesus highlighted and the pharisaical unbiblical rules the GB enforce, which destroy families and lives, under the pretense of keeping the Cong clean.

At least on this topic - not all JWs have their heads in the sand.

Steve said:
"It shows the contrast between the loving method Jesus highlighted and the pharisaical unbiblical rules the GB enforce, which destroy families and lives, under the pretense of keeping the Cong clean."

What pharisaical and unbiblical rules do you refer? And how does the GB enforce anything since they are in NY?

Ringwielder said...

OK Ronde... I will put this very simply for you. It is not difficult.

The Governing Body are a group of men in Brooklyn who claim to be directed by God. Are you with me so far?

They interpret the Bible. They then hand down their interpretations to a writing committee to write literature and prepare outlines for talk to be given at Assemblies and Kingdom halls. Did you know that the talks at assemblies come from Brooklyn? (You know, the ones YOU set such store by)

The elders give talks based on outlines from the Society. I know this is difficult for you to understand Ronde because you have an issue with it on just about every subject on this blog.

The GB also add their own rules, for example, there is no Scriptural basis for judicial committees, making someone come to the meetings for months whilst still being shunned, humiliating written requests for reinstatement and reinstatement itself.

JWs follow these rules from the pages of the Watchtower, because to disobey them would mean that they are damaging their relationship with Jehovah, causing disunity in the cong and thus putting their eternal future in jeopardy. (This is what JWs have repeated to them over and over and over again)

That is how the Governing Body enforce rules. It really isnt hard to understand Ronde, unless someone deliberately wants to be obtuse about it.

By your reasoning how can Jehovah tell you what to do because He is in heaven?

S said...

Steve said:
"The Governing Body are a group of men in Brooklyn who claim to be directed by God. Are you with me so far?"

No. They claim to be directed by God's word and the holy spirit that they pray for. But then whether they are or not does not matter. The senate, house and governor are not directed by God but people are to obey them.

"They interpret the Bible. They then hand down their interpretations to a writing committee to write literature and prepare outlines for talk to be given at Assemblies and Kingdom halls. Did you know that the talks at assemblies come from Brooklyn? (You know, the ones YOU set such store by)"

Yes, I am aware of that.

"The elders give talks based on outlines from the Society. I know this is difficult for you to understand Ronde because you have an issue with it on just about every subject on this blog."

But just because they are given does not mean that they are enforcing anything as rules are not handed down in those talks.

"The GB also add their own rules, for example, there is no Scriptural basis for judicial committees, making someone come to the meetings for months whilst still being shunned, humiliating written requests for reinstatement and reinstatement itself."

As I said, there are no rules. Why does there have to be scriptural basis for judical committees? How else would it be handled? Congregational vote?
The time period for coming to meetings is to show one's desire for repentance.

"JWs follow these rules from the pages of the Watchtower, because to disobey them would mean that they are damaging their relationship with Jehovah, causing disunity in the cong and thus putting their eternal future in jeopardy. (This is what JWs have repeated to them over and over and over again)"

That is what is stated but it does not mean that it is a rule or that it has to be followed.

"That is how the Governing Body enforce rules. It really isnt hard to understand Ronde, unless someone deliberately wants to be obtuse about it."

Yes, it is hard to understand because just because elders say something does not mean I have to do it, because I don't. Elders oversee congregations and if it is not a congregational matter, it is out of their jurisdiction.

"By your reasoning how can Jehovah tell you what to do because He is in heaven?"

No, I just state that there are no rules because they do not have the power or authority to enforce anything. People shun disfellowshiped ones because they want to be shunned. If they did not want to be shunned they would be associating with the congregation and that would have prevented any wrongdoing.

I agree with you though, he is a troll. He is just here to stir up the Ex JWs, then he can tell them they are full of hate and rub his hands with glee.

They follow the rules from the pages of WATCHTOWER M-A-G-A-Z-I-N-E Ronde.

But you will probably deny that this magazine exists or that Jehovah's Witnesses take no notice of what is written in the WATCHTOWER MAGAZINE, even though they read the paragraphs and repeat what is said in the paragraphs every Sunday.

Seems strange that they study this magazine at the meeting every week and yet according to you they dont follow the admonitions and yes, the rules laid out in those pages. Whats the point?

S said...

so where are these rules?

Issue, page number, paragraph?

Check the 6/15/07 W and the article on elders and it says that they are not to make rules.

RONDE,
THIS STATEMENT YOU MADE ABOUT STEVE IS ABOUT AS ABUSIVE AND LOW AS ONE CAN GO. WE ALL KNOW HOW LAME YOU ARE AND YOU ARE CONFLICT ITSELF. YOU ARE NOT FROM JEHOVAH.

BEST ADVICE IS TO SHUN RONDE, DISFELLOWSHIP RONDE FROM THE BLOG, IGNORE RONDES ARGUEMENTS.

Kimmy Jo,

Steve said elders abuse.
Steve was an elder.
So he abused.

I just asked him when he stopped being an elder did he stop abusing?

Fair question, since what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Can't you take it when it is put back to you?

Ringwielder said...

Steve said elders abuse.

That's an outright lie...and the inference afterward that I meant ALL elders.

Here's one for you.

There are pedophiles among JWs.
Ronde is a JW
Therefore Ronde is a pedophile.

No,its not true (as far as we know) and the argumentation is ridiculous.

I said that it was easy for an elder or ministerial servant to be given access to a child, because, like Catholic priests, they are in a position of trust.

And I stated that JWs are always being told how the Christian Congregation is a haven of peace and security, a spiritual paradise, a place of trust.

An elder or any brother offering helping out a sister whose husband is a non believer by taking one of her children with him in the ministry, will more than likely be thanked by the relieved mother rather than looked at suspiciously, especially if that man has a position in the Cong, He was appointed by God's Spirit after all, wasnt he?

All such a person would have to do is ask the mother if he can take little Jimmy on a return visit. There is the opportunity, and we know it has happened.

'Fair question, since what is good for the goose is good for the gander'

It was not a fair question, it was an accusation.
