You Must Learn To Lie Convincingly

Fanatics and such always seem to be in need of a crash course in how to dodge and wiggle out of embarrassing situations. It is very handy to be able to talk yourself, and possibly others, away from the fact that you are a fanatic, which hasn’t got a leg to stand on. The procedure is, lie convincingly.
If you like to be able to do that, join Jehovah's Witnesses. Take a look at this sterling example:
*** km 11/90 6 Are You Ready to Face a Faith-Challenging Medical Situation? ***LOADED QUESTIONS TO WATCH OUT FOR
30 You should know that there are some questions that doctors and others pose that are not always asked with good motive. The one most frequently asked by doctors (and by some judges) is: “Would you rather die (let your child die) than accept a ‘lifesaving blood transfusion’?”31 If you say yes, that would be correct in a religious sense. But that reply is often misunderstood and at times even produces adverse court decisions. You must remember that you are not in the ministry in this situation. Rather, you are talking about needed medical treatment. Hence, you must adapt to your audience, medical or legal.—Ps. 39:1; Col. 4:5, 6.32
To a doctor, a judge, or a hospital administrator, “yes” can mean you want to be a martyr or want to sacrifice your child for your faith. Telling them about your strong faith in the resurrection in this situation will not usually help. They will brand you a religious fanatic, unable to make rational decisions when life is at stake. In the case of children, they will see you as a negligent parent who refuses so-called “lifesaving” medical treatment.
Notice the old “bad motive” cliché. Why not ask if the answer they suggest is the one that the Jehovah's Witness should give when a question is asked with a good motive? It is quite hilarious to see that the Watchtower Society admit that an HONEST answer from the Jehovah's Witness would reveal to the doctor or judge that the dub in reality is a “religious fanatic, unable to make rational decisions when life is at stake.”
Of course the Watchtower can’t have people going around admitting to what they really are, so then this little “tutorial” will be handy. If anyone should still actually believe the insane idea that the “blood resistance” among Jehovah's Witnesses is something every dub has come up with “personally” they need to read this particular Kingdom Ministry.

Again, why so many quotes from the Watchtower?

What's the deal?

I thought that this was about Jehovah's Witnesses.

Ronde, you really are clueless. Please leave these discussions to those who actually know anything about JWs and their organisation. It's kind of embarrassing seeing comments like this.

With regard to the post, I think it's interesting that people who are determined to see the good in this organisation don't see how immoral it is in using their 'divine' authority to teach otherwise decent people to be both liars and murderers.

I would take you serious if you actually took something in context and criticized the congregation. But you don't because you can't.

However, let's take a person that follows the Watchtower as you say, a JW; and take a person like me who is one of Jehovah's Witnesses and does not worship the Watchtower. The common factor is the Bible.

That is what you neglect. We have the Bible as our foundation.

I would take you seriously if anything you said actually made any sense. As you've sadly failed on that score (yet again, I might add), I sadly have to consign you to the annals of unhappy yet insecure defender JWs..

Actually, I can see both points of view.

When my Father was alive, I had to temper my responses to him because of his limited "world view". He was a Methodist, but had not been to church in 25 years, emotionally was a Confederate, proud of Virginia and it's role in the Civil War, but his real religion was "United States Navy", which he joined to fight Hitler and the Japanese Empire, et al.

I spoke to him in an entirely different context that I might have spoken the same things to a person with a different world view.

You always have to take into consideration the emotional context, background and level of knowledge of anyone you are having a discussion with.

Doctors and Judges speak a different language, and I have met both who were malicious and prejudiced.

If you sing to a pig, you will just ruin your voice...and irritate the pig.

When the pig has the power to imprison you, or rape you and yours with a forced blood transfusion, etc., it is best not to do "rap" music (a misnomer if there ever was one), to a pig that is expecting to hear Madonna's "dulcet tones".

It is called diplomacy.... not lying.

Well, GBletters, aka anonymous:

"Ronde, you really are clueless."

No I am not. I am far more knowledgeable than you. While you limit your knowledge about JWs, and thus leave it seriously deficient, by using only the Watchtower or old Golden Age, I use the relevant material that JWs accept such as the recent assemblies we had.

"Please leave these discussions to those who actually know anything about JWs and their organisation. It's kind of embarrassing seeing comments like this."

As I said, JWs don't follow the Watchtower, they follow the Bible. The Watchtower follows the Bible also. So we both go back to the Bible.

"With regard to the post, I think it's interesting that people who are determined to see the good in this organisation don't see how immoral it is in using their 'divine' authority to teach otherwise decent people to be both liars and murderers."

Well, except that people read their own Bibles and understand the principles from there and don't rely on this "divine authority" and the "they" for their teachers.

Are you talking to me?

I make plenty of sense. But your statements shows that you don't want the truth, the Way and the life, i.e. following Jesus. You just want to make excuses for your decision to quit the race for life. If you stated that I was right, which I always am, then you would be stating that you are wrong.

Unfortunately Ronde, your stupidity is made amply evident by your assuming I'm the blog author, even when 'Anonymous' is just that. I still insist you're clueless, and everything you say corroborates this theory. You are far more knowledgeable than me?? I laugh at your insane assumption that you not only know anything about me (among the many other 'Anonymous' comments, but you actually surpass me in 'knowledge'. Knowledge of what, exactly? If it's how to shut off your brain and dance to the tune of the WTBS like a puppet on LSD, then yes, you're certainly more knowledgeable. Every post you make shows the extent of your knowledge, which isn't beyond the tripe that you are taught in your cult.

Oh, and who gives a shit about bible interpretation? It's a book written by a bunch of goatherders a long time ago; even if I believed in god I'd hardly believe such a nonsensical piece of contradictory crap was meant to be a record of his will. So your claims fall on deaf ears, I'm afraid.

Quit my race for life? Lol! What a laugh. I'd say you're in for a shock when you die (when you realise there's absolutely f***all out there) but that'd be an oxymoron. The Armageddon nonsense is all in your head. The fact that 7 million people have the same delusion doesn't make it any less of one; you are testament to that fact.

PS: It's senseless to insist you're making sense. That's not for you to determine, but for those poor sods doing the listening. I don't blame you for such irrational behaviour - you seek to be JW after all. You don't exist in the real world, but insist on deluding yourself.
