Question: Is There Anything In The Bible That Reveals The Origin Of The Negro?

Answer: It is generally believed that the curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the Black race. Certain it is that when Noah said, "Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren," he pictured the future of the Colored race. They have been and are a race of servants, but now in the dawn of the twentieth century, we are all coming to see this matter of service in its true light and to find that the only real joy in life is in serving others; not bossing them. There is no servant in the world a good as a good Colored servant, and the joy that he gets from rendering faithful service is one of the purest joys there is in the world.

Golden Age-1929-July-24-p.702

That one is particularly disturbing because in the Oct 8 1977 AWAKE! they mocked Catholics by saying, "Even up to a hundred years ago the Catholic Church held the view that blacks were cursed by God."
And then again in Feb 8 1982 AWAKE! they said, "Have the churches of Christendom always treated everyone on the same basis? ... For centuries the Catholic Church taught that Negroes were a cursed race."
LESS THAN a hundred years ago they were teaching the same thing! The Catholics got rid of that teaching before the WT did but they use it show that the Catholics must not be the "true religion" ... oh, the hypocrisy.

July 1929...Hmmmmm

You know..the world has gotten a lot smarter since 1929.

The United States Military, if memory serves, relegated black people to cook, and janitor positions, and the Tuskeegee Airmen were notable exceptions.

In CIRCA 1929 "Amos and Andy" were popular radio shows, and Jack Benny had his black servant Rochester, and in movies, any household servant was more often than not, black.

I remember seeing a piece on Television, about a black family that was freed after the American Civil War..and they came up to the "master" and said something to the effect "We is free, now...free to do what?"

I have been to what used to be the Belgian Congo, and seen first hand the decays and rot that occurs in the nation that uses the uneducated to manage (Yes, I know, ...but that is another subject).

The fact of the matter is...in 1929 almost all blacks in the USA (with few very notable exceptions...) were uneducated.

I am a struggling "uneducated" engineer, and I consider it happiness that I am employed alongside people that are a LOT smarter and MUCH more educated than I am. I am a good servant, provide good value for my labor, etc.

To me, "political correctness" is a cowards philosophy, like going to the beach and avoiding stepping on a "Portugese Person-Of-War".

In 1929 "Colored People" made the best servants. They probably do now.

I have an aching desire to become a quantum physicist ... but that will never happen, as I do not have the talent.

NO ONE is created equal. And that is a fact.

Sorry.

What does the Golden Age of 1929 or any year have to do with Jehovah's Witnesses and the Governing body?

But if you read it in context you will see that they did not say that the curse was the origin, "It is generally believed that the curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the Black race."

It is generally believed. So the Golden Age was not incorrect anyway. The GA did not teach that the blacks were a cursed race.

So you are taking things out of context again.

The only hypocrisy is this blog stating that it reports on Jehovah's Witnesses with any truth.

Yes, it is always easier to just dismiss everything as a bunch of lies than to recognize the impact of what is being said here. The main point is that Russell said that blacks are a race of servants and that they like being servants. In addition, he did not say that they were not a cursed race or that he did not believe that they were cursed.

Lol. They like being servants!! Wtf are you trying to justify. Yeah I’m sure they loved being servants with little to no pay and sub par living conditions for most. That’s like me saying to you (if you are white and disclosure I am white) “White people are a race of asshole masters and that you like being the asshole master”. Maybe some black people did enjoy being slaves and were treated fairly just like not all white people were asshole masters. There is nothing good about being someone’s slave. If you think there is then you should try it. But if you are a JW then you are already a slave and as such clearly like it. I was born and raised a JW for 38 years. I’ve been out for 3 thankfully.
