Watchtower Study for November 2, 2008

ARE YOU SPEAKING THE "PURE LANGUAGE" FLUENTLY? "I shall give to peoples the challenge to a pure language in order for them aIl to call upon the name of Jehovah."-ZEPH. 3:9.
Another Watchtower "Pure Language" article? Oy vey. I thought that these pure language articles would have died out with afros and bell-bottoms.
But just as past fads tend to re-emerge in later generations, this Fred Franz era propaganda is being pulled off of the shelf, dusted off, and put back into circulation for the newer generation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I think that the Watchtower’s teaching of the "Pure Language" has probably been one of the most effective accessories in their mind control repertoire. The pure language is presented as being an all encompassing standard that governs all areas of Christianity (doctrines, conduct, sacred service, organizational standards, etc.) The Watchtower has taken it upon itself to define what the pure language is. Since the Watchtower is able to convince its followers that they alone are the only ones "speaking" the pure language, the "pure language" of the Watchtower now becomes a litmus test by which all other Christians must pass. And thus, it is no surprise that all other denominations fail the test.
This feeds into the "where else can we go" dilemma. The average Jehovah's Witness is convinced that since Jehovah’s Witnesses are the only ones "speaking the pure language", that there is no where else for them to go. It also allows them to dismiss the devotion and fine conduct of other Christians since those Christians are not speaking the "pure language".
The Watchtower leadership is like a first year law school student who drops out of college, and proceeds to begin writing books on what is "constitutional" and what is not.

Witnesses are the only group that understand Bible truth. The pure language is Bible truth.

Example- God's view of blood. Who else have the correct view? Abstain from consuming blood. Acts 15:28-29, Acts 20:25, Genesis 9:4&16, and Leviticus 17:14, 7:26-27.

Even the medical community finally is agreeing- but do not take my word for it. Here is a news report on bloodless surgery:

The first post (or article) on this blog was Oct.4, 2007. There have been 244 posts in total. And yet I have NEVER seen one post by the author of this blog that was positive. Have Jehovah Witnesses never done anything positive in the over 125 years of their existance? When I was young, I was taught by my parents that if you had a complaint about a person, you first had to say something postive about that person. This practice actually keeps things objective and honest. When I constantly hear someone running down or critizing another it makes me wonder about the moral integrity of that person. What I find interesting is, there are those that will find points in this post to critize and there will be others that will somehow use these points to critize Jehovah's Witnesses and yet will any of these that are so quick to critize be willing to say anything positive about Jehovah's Witnesses?
I guess we will see.....

He is a theocratic joker so he has nothing positive to say. Well the devil has nothing positive to say either.

244 posts in this blog and they all are jokes. Nothing serious.

JWs have the truth and the Watchtower Society is the means of distributing it.

If you don't like it, you can lump it.

sheeplike,

you say that Witnesses are the only group that understand bible truth. While they may understand some, they don't understand as much as they profess to. You mention blood. Show the bible principals that allow for the use of blood fragments. If the bible forbids blood, the bible should allow for limited usage of fragments if there is such a thing

"While they may understand some, they don't understand as much as they profess to."

So what of it?

Some say that we are all good, others say we are all bad. But the truth lies somewhere between.

" You mention blood. Show the bible principals that allow for the use of blood fragments. If the bible forbids blood, the bible should allow for limited usage of fragments if there is such a thing
"

Blood fragments are not blood. The bible does not state about that since they did not have the technology to split them back then. Because the Bible is not specific about it, then the one is lenient about it and does not increase the scope of the application.

I find it interesting that active JWs come here to "defend" the "truth"!!!

You are breaking your own commands and rules by even coming to this "apostate" website.

If your local elders were to find out you would be out the door!!!

Did JWs have the truth in 1914?
How about 1925?
How about 1975?
Surely you are not going to deny the false predictions / false prophecy conceived by the WTBTS???

My advice to everyone is simple - come to informed decisions, based on established fact.

Oh Shut up. There are no such rules or commands.

"If your local elders were to find out you would be out the door!!!"

They know and ask me what is the latest that is happening in the organization and on the net.

"Did JWs have the truth in 1914?"

Yes, we do.

"How about 1925?"

Yes, it was the year that came after 1924, and the one that came before 1926.

"How about 1975?
Surely you are not going to deny the false predictions / false prophecy conceived by the WTBTS???"

JWs did not make false predictions. Rutherford may have concerning 1925, but he is not Jehovah's Witnesses, his is just A Witness, singular.

"My advice to everyone is simple - come to informed decisions, based on established fact. "

We have.

Well, show us Bible verses okaying the drinking or eating of animal and human blood. Transfusing blood is just another way to consume it.

Matthew Chapter 12 revealed to me that JWs have the wrong view of blood.

It's obvious that Jesus would have allowed his followers to accept blood, to save their lives.

When I was a JW, I was blinded to the simplicity of it all.

You guys need to rip up the Suicide Cards in your wallets. I did, and it felt SO good.

Please read Acts 15:28-29, and Acts 20:25. Not abstaining from blood is a serious sin.

You should think about making things right with our loving Heavenly Father. It is Jehovah's law- not a man-made law.

I'm not condoning the use of blood, I, like you, think the bible prohibit's it. My argument is that it (the bible) doesn't allow for the use of fragments. Handling blood properly from the bible's standpoint doesn't allow for the removal of fragments. no matter who does it.

Once again Voice of Reason (alias Ronde) uses some pretty unpure language.

This is quite interesting because did you notice the dicussion about this particular post from GBL is on Pure Language?

Ronde has used ugly and worldly language in many posts, including this one:

"Shut up"
"you can lump it"

I ask, is that the language of a true Christian? (Watch for the use of diversion or simply nonsense in Ronde/VOR's response.)

There is no problem there. That is for a person to decide. Many feel it is okay, since when you eat meat there are still blood factions in it. Think of a nice, juicy steak. Now, shred and chemically explode the steak, and extract some molecules from it. That is one way to get a fraction.

I know two Witnesses that are vegetarian because they don't want to chance it. It is up to Christians to make up their own minds.

Sheeplike:

Where then does one draw the line of what is according to ones own conscience, and what is forbidden. I asked for the scriptural principals involved. The WTBTS has for years drawn a line saying that blood use is prohibited by the bible, whether in transfusions, food products, and medicines. Now they say that some of it, some fractions, is according to ones own conscience. What is the principal involved. The bible principal. Not men's reasoning. They didn't use men's reasoning to establish the prohibition to begin with, now where is the bible principal used to allow some part of blood to be used. What part of the law? What part of his dealings with Israel? Where in the book of Proverbs, or Ecclesiastes? Which bible writer addressed such issues, or issues that could be drawn from? Or did they just pull it out of the air?

S said...

"It's obvious that Jesus would have allowed his followers to accept blood, to save their lives."

"I want mercy, and not sacrifice,’"

Where do you get the idea that a sacrifice is involved?

"You guys need to rip up the Suicide Cards in your wallets. I did, and it felt SO good. "

Where do you get the idea that refusing blood is suicide? Receiving blood is just bad medicine.

S said...

"is that the language of a true Christian"

If I say it, then it is the language of a true Christian.

How else is it measured?

S said...

"since when you eat meat there are still blood factions in it. Think of a nice, juicy steak. "

No, steaks don't have blood fractions in it, it has full blood cells in it.

But that is not the point of the law on blood. It is not about eliminating blood cells. It is about what we can do to obey Jehovah.

Why do you worry about it?

Why do you make an issue out of something that need not be.

It is so simple.

We don't take whole blood, or the four main components.

But anything smaller is up to the individual because the Bible is ambiguous about that.

voice of reason,

it sounds like your conscience is bothering you. It is a lot of words to be saying about something that doesn't even concern you.

Ronde
Your SUCH an idiot.
You parrot the conscience of the WTBTS with no knowledge of what comprises a blood fraction. You inhale false information and exude pure stupidity. Voice of reason? We think not.

Anonymous said...

So Ronde..which parts of the blood are ok to use? 4 major components eh? WTBTS decision on what is real blood and what is a fraction...? Come on...if Gods law does prohibit the use of blood..who gave WTBTS permission to determine what IS blood and what isnt... you are such an idiot. ps. try thinking before inserting foot in mouth, some of here are in the field of your lack of expertise.

Witnesses are the only group that understand Bible truth. The pure language is Bible truth.

====================================

No, the Watchtower Society is claiming that they are the only ones who understand Bible truth. It's a control technique called exclusivism.

If blood transfusions are the same as eating blood, then organ transplants are the same as eating other humans. Since organ transplants are allowed now, why is there a double standard?

By the way, the medical community isn't 'finally agreeing' with the Watchtower Society. No one is eager to give someone a blood transfusion any more than they are eager to give them a kidney transplant. A transfusion is something you give someone only when you have to.

I know how JWs feel about them.

Since the Bible is absent any comment on blood fractions of fractions, God has no rule on them. And I doubt you know how JWs feel about it.

sorry, but this is laughable.
did you ever listened to talks on convention with an open ear? its nearly all negative! its about wrongdoings, the false beliefs of worldy ppl, the false beliefs of scientists, the false doctrines of other dominations. its about rules, the bad bad internet, criticism towards nearly everything. Why arent you baptized, yet? Guilt, guilt, guilt.

So what?
Why is criticism against the Society negative while against everything else (other Religions, Groups, Witnesses, Governments, etc, etc) is positive? Is a judical commitee positive?

Ronde the idiot says
"Since the Bible is absent any comment on blood fractions of fractions, God has no rule on them."

According to WTBTS, The Bible states CLEARLY.."abstain from blood". It didnt say, only the red bits or the white bits or any individual bits,

The WTBTS is the one determining the meaning of and what constitutes blood. For years blood meant blood. Now the new 'directors" of the WTBTS, ie the lawyers have determined that fractions are ok, and besides, it heads off some lawsuits.

Think for yourself..oh wait Ive seen the results of your thinking. Never mind,

VOR (alias Ronde) attempted to defend his use of rude, unclean and worldy language on this web-blog with this rationale:

"If I say it, then it is the language of a true Christian." - VOR/Ronde

All I can say is thank you VOR/Ronde for proving publicly that you and your religion are a ruse. You are helping so many to see that the religion that YOU BELONG TO AND SUPPORT is definitely NOT the true religion.

I can't thank you enough because your behavior will help prevent people from becoming a JW.

Anonymous said...

VOR (alias Ronde) replied, "It is about what we can do to obey Jehovah."

I'm sorry Ronde, but I must correct you again, you should be stating this, because it more accurately represents the belief system of JW's:

"It is about what we (JW's) can do to obey the Governing Body and their man-made interpretations of scripture as presented in their literature, meetings, assemblies, and conventions REGARDLESS of the many documented and serious mistakes over 100 years."

Don't you feel better now Ronde that I've stated this in a fashion that non-JW's can understand? (Your only purpose here appears to be to sabotage revealing information about JW's that do not put a favorable light on them.)

Ronde wrote: "Since the Bible is absent any comment on blood fractions of fractions, God has no rule on them"

This is typical cult thinking. Rather than honestly approaching the topic, you start with the preconceived cult worldview.

You're still avoiding the question and the truth.

I'll try another question: Where can I read in the Bible that plasma is unacceptable? Where can I read in the Bible that red blood cells are unacceptable?

I used to work at Engelwood Hospital in New Jersey. They are a cutting edge hospital that does about 90% of all surgeries without blood transfusions. This includes heart and brain surgery.

The bloodless program was started for Witnesses, but because of faster recovery, less complications, and less expense, it was expanded.

Check out their website.

Why does not anonymous understand the concept of deciding something for yourself? That is called a conscience matter. The scriptures do not spell out the answer, so you pray about and then make your own choice.

Sense Witnesses have many things that are considered conscience matters, the facts argue against the 'mind control- cult' theory of some of y'all.

That would be a great tagline for the Watchtower magazine.

"Apocalyptic Fiction Since 1874!"

Keep 'em coming.

Why does everyone call voice of reason by the nickname Ronde?

Anonymous said...

For the same reason that we call Sheeplike Ronde. (You see Ronde, it doesn't matter what alias you morph into... you can't change who you really are. Your comments are all the same, don't you see that? Or are you even more disturbed then we think?)

Your motives are NOT pure on this web-blog.

The only good thing is that the content of some of your blogs will clearly make any thinking person stand clear of joining your religion before they are conditioned by your indoctrination program which is cleverly designed by pulling sciptures out of context.

Anyone who knows the Bible knows this fact: "You can make the Bible say just about anything, by selectively quoting from the many sciptures." Think about that statement because it's true.

If you stop and think for yourself Ronde - put your defenses down - you will come back one day with an apology yourself and you will be the biggest apostate on this planet - it's who you are Ronde.

Diverting the issues. This is what the Watchtower magazine does when it speaks of so-called Apostates. It attributes bad motives to them.

Interestingly, the issues are left unaddressed.

I guess it is because all of it is a conscience matter. Either someone will be obedient in a matter, or disobedient, according to how their conscience dictates. It doesn't belong to the watchtower to dictate and differentiate between matters. No one gave them the right to set the standards, least of all Jehovah God.

Apostates have neither good motives nor deeds.

This is great. Like I've mentioned before, no one is eager to give someone any kind of transplant, whether it's organs or blood. However it doesn't take away from the fact that many, many JWs have died needlessly because of an arbitrary ban on blood transfusions.

Not true! Just listen to yourself. You're saying that you're not in a cult because they let you decide some things on your own?! People who are not in a cult get to make all of their own decisions. Here are the reasons why the Watchtower Society is running a cult.

Some critical of JW's handling of problems/issues/mistakes/pedophilia etc, said, "Interestingly, the issues are left unaddressed."

How true that statement is! It's for this reason that all these web-sites and blogs exists beause the GB refuses to discuss things with their flock (take the pedophile issue).

Tell me JW apologist. Where has the GB admitted and informed congregations that we have had many incidences of pedophilia across the country (and world for that matter) so as to forewarn people?

No where! JW's think that this problem mostly exists on the outside. Boy was I surprised to read up on this:

www.silentlambs.org

The GB is guilty of withholding information that could have protected children.

SHAME ON THEM!

It's interesting how many people have been called "idoit" by VOR/Ronde.

Interesting because the one doing the name calling (namely Ronde) is exactly that.

I wonder if Ronde's parents know what he is doing here.

My favorite comment:

"I know two Witnesses that are vegetarian because they don't want to chance it."

I knew JW's like this too. They are so spiritually immature and have no concept of the scriptural view of blood. Of course this is helped along by being in a cult which discourages thinking for yourself.

S said...

J,

That is exactly what thinking for yourself is.

Those two that you mentioned were thinking for themselves. That is so unlike what the religion itself is all about. It is not about what this person or that person does, but goes back to the basic constitution.
As I've said before, the actions of people do not nullify the constitution.

Anonymous said...

Well, here's the problem. The constitution represents the Bible. And the GB's "interpretation" of that constitution represents the past, current and future teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Because those teachings have been wrong and misleading so many times, a real thinker would wonder what else they're wrong about.

Therefore the constitution - the Bible - and the GB's interpretation of it - JW's teachings - aren't necessary one and the same.

If you're curious about the facts that back these statements, check out:

http://www.watchtowercomments.com

Personally, I believe these documentaries will be the end of JW's. I know that's a strong statement, but after you view them, you'll see they are indisbutable and undenialably true.

spiritualbrother said...

Basically the Internet is causing many JW's to reexamine their religion.

Ringwielder said...

'Because those teachings have been wrong and misleading so many times, a real thinker would wonder what else they're wrong about.'

True. 'Present truth' may well turn out to be 'old truth' or UNtruth. Problem is, you have to believe every word of it otherwise you are not considered loyal to Jehovah.

Even if you figured out something yourself and it was adopted later on as truth, you would have been labeled an apostate if you had voiced your thoughts before the Watchtower did.

What is there to reexamine about our religion?

Jehovah is God
Jesus is his son.
Jehovah promised to setup a kingdom in heaven and on earth and Christians are to preach this kingdom.

EVERYTHING. Your couple of brief statments about who Jehovah and Jesus represent as well as preaching and a kingdom does not sum up the religion of JWs.

People have the right to examine and reexamine everything they're being told and believe.

Cults would like you to think you should not or there is no need to examing them.
