Latest News From Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses

At latest round of meetings held by Circuit Overseers with the Congregation Elders, the Circuit Overseer quoted from the Society's outline the following directive:
Any Elder or Ministerial Servant who encourages college for his kids or others, or who allows his children to go to college, will no longer qualify for these privileges within the Congregation.
So, there you have it. No college for the children of Elders and Ministerial Servants unless they intend to forego their positions.
What is of further interest, Albert Schroder's son, Judah Ben Schroder is enrolled at Columbia University in New York City. Talk about a double standard!

Yeah I said it said...

wow, is that even harsher than the so-called previous previous light where they were really pressuring no higher education in the 70's and 80's?

then the flip flop 90's and oops, students find out that the ethics of research for the publishing company that is the wtbts are so pathetically articulated and unethical that they leave...i mean, it's the drunken orgies and freebasing and evolution teachings. ;)

So what?

People can do what they want to do.

First off, if someone is attending college, why should others even know?

In other words, mind your own business.

or go to indoctrinate-U.com

And see that university is bad bad bad.

"People can do what they want to do."
--Well not if you are a JW. You are told what is acceptable and what is not. If you do decided to do whatever you want you will be disciplined within the congregation, so no JWs can't do whatever they want.

"First off, if someone is attending college, why should others even know?"
--Why shouldn't people know someone is going to college? Going to college is something to be proud of, not something that should be shamefully hidden for fear of looked down upon by fellow congreagtion members.

"You are told what is acceptable and what is not."

So what if you are told what is acceptable and what is not? The governments do that too. Deal with it.

"If you do decided to do whatever you want you will be disciplined within the congregation, so no JWs can't do whatever they want."

Bull. I do what I want. That is why I am here bashing apostates.

"Why shouldn't people know someone is going to college?"

It is called minding your own business.

"Going to college is something to be proud of, not something that should be shamefully hidden for fear of looked down upon by fellow congreagtion members."

Depends on the University and financing. I would not be proud of spending $20K+ for what? after 4 years a piece of paper that says what you just learned over the last 4 years and spent $80K+ on is obsolete? That is foolish and nothing to be proud of.

University is all about sports.

The Society's outline said nothing of the sort. I don't know where you get your information from, but it's wrong again.

John, pssst.

It's called disinformation.
The Society is feeding disinformation to the apostates and they are eating it up like their own vomit.

So, you believe that the Society, Jehovah's loving organization, has time to feed "disinformation" to apostates? grissom6471, you are indeed a credit to Jehovah's Witnesses. You are a good little lap dog just as they want you to be. Keep up the good work. You have a fine future ahead of you as a slave for the Watchtower.
The cost of college has nothing whatsoever to do with it. It is not whether you get a better job from college that is important. Learning is valuable in its own right. The Watchtower is not against college, per se. They send Bethelities to college all the time. What they are against is young people taking the time out of their lives to spend in an endeavor that is not the preaching work. The preaching work is where they find their converts, which makes their religion richer. It's all about the money. It always is. Every corporation is the same. It's the bottom line that is important.
John, the Society gave the memorandum to the Circuit Overseers to discuss with the elders on their visits. Have you seen that memo? Don't pass off as untruth, things that you know nothing about.
grissom, what you are doing is not bashing apostates. You are simply showing everyone how the Society has molded your mind to believe that everything that is said against them is untrue. We understand that and pity you.

grissom, I apologize for calling you a lap dog. The term is rude and I should not have used it. There are many like you in the organization. People who so believe everything that the organization tells them, that they cannot see beyond it. It is really not your fault. It is just the way you have been taight. The society realizes it too. That is why they know that they can make the most outrageous changes and decisions and most Jehovah's Witnesses will just go along without blinking an eye. It happened with the Nazis in WW2, it's happened with other cults and it will happen again. Some people are just sheep and are meant to follow.
So I hope that you will accept my apology.

No, I don't. But since apostates are wrong about everything, they are not getting their information from Jehovah's organization.

" grissom6471, you are indeed a credit to Jehovah's Witnesses."

Thank you. I try. But do you actually think that I actually care about what is written here. I am here to bash apostates.

" You are a good little lap dog just as they want you to be."

Just who is the "they" you refer?

" Keep up the good work. You have a fine future ahead of you as a slave for the Watchtower."

What is this "Watchtower"? I don't know.

" The Watchtower is not against college, per se. They send Bethelities to college all the time."

Who is talking about this Watchtower?

" What they are against is young people taking the time out of their lives to spend in an endeavor that is not the preaching work. The preaching work is where they find their converts, which makes their religion richer. It's all about the money."

It never is about the money. Jehovah provides.

It is that university is bad indoctrination. check out indoctrinate-u.com

It is that university is bad association, waste of time, nothing is learned there that can not be learned elsewhere and in real life.

"Every corporation is the same. It's the bottom line that is important."

So you recognize that the Watchtower Society is just office space and a printing plant. Thus is not related to Jehovah's Witnesses other than who work there.

"John, the Society gave the memorandum to the Circuit Overseers to discuss with the elders on their visits. Have you seen that memo?"

Who cares?

"grissom, what you are doing is not bashing apostates. You are simply showing everyone how the Society has molded your mind to believe that everything that is said against them is untrue. We understand that and pity you."

Again, I don't know what this 'Society' is that you refer. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and do not belong to a Society.

I apologize for calling you dung.

"There are many like you in the organization."

No there is not, I am one of a kind.

" People who so believe everything that the organization tells them, that they cannot see beyond it."

Well, that is not me. There are many things that happen that I don't agree with. But that is the poorest reason to leave.

" It is really not your fault."

Of course because I have no faults.

" It is just the way you have been taight. The society realizes it too."

I don't think that you have any idea what is taught by Jehovah's Witnesses because you only focus on the Watchtower. I however don't read the Watchtower and this I know what JWs teach because I listen to JWs, which is much more than the Watchtower.

"That is why they know that they can make the most outrageous changes and decisions and most Jehovah's Witnesses will just go along without blinking an eye."

No, it is because the changes are good. And opposers and apostates are not smart enough to see that.
