Jehovah Witnesses don't disfellowship people who are born protestants or born in any other religions.
They only disfellowship those among them who refused to follow bible principles, Paul said in 1corinthians 5:9-13
"In my letter I wrote you to quit mixing in company with fornicators, not meaning entirely with the fornicators of this world.....otherwise you would actually have to get out of the world......... Remove the wicked man from AMONG YOURSELVES.

Note:
the information came from the Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Enclyclopedia said that Papal Excommunication is not without pagan influence. not Jehovah witnesses excommunication.

Jehovah witnesses follow what Paul said, and you have to be a witness to be disfellowship, if you are not a witness excommunication does not apply to you.

re `they only disfellowship those who refuse to follow bible principles`. This is not true. They disfellowship those who cannot accept the ever changing interpretation of scriptures found in the wt mag and wt books. If someone is following bible principles but doesn`t believe Jesus came back in 1914 he will be disfellowshipped if he expresses this view to others.

In the first place that's not true, if you were able to read the Shepherd the flock book like I did, that only the elders are allowed to have you would find out that's not true. That's why they hide it from you, and tell the elders to guard it with their lives.in 1cor.5:1 in most bibles it's translated correctly that says anyone calling themselves a brother not like the nwt says, that is a brother that's number 1. #2 if you are a true Christian it's no way you can be a Wicked person with the holy spirit that dwells inside of the true Christian, he will not allow you to be Wicked. Jehovah Witnesses doesn't know anything about that, because in the New World Translation it's been changed to the Holy Spirit not in you, but in Union with you, and in the Greek, there is no word Union its just in you. When the Apostle Paul tells you to expel the wicked one from you that alone should let you know he's not talking about a true Christian he's taking about someone claiming to be a Christian. The Bible says you will know them by their fruits, not buy them falling short. 2nd Thessalonians 3:15 the Apostle Paul, tells you how to treat a true Christian when he says if anyone does not obey this letter, note that person and do not keep company with them but don't treat him like an enemy but treat him as a brother. My wife's who family is Jehovah Witnesses she was born into it. she's a born again Christian now, she left that organization 20 years ago but they don't shun her they talk to her. I know people that have been disfellowshipped for questioning a Doctrine that is proven untrue in Scripture, like the return of Jesus invisibly in 1914 mat 24:46 and Mark 13:32 Jesus said no one knows only the Father in heaven in Revelation 1 vs 7 says behold, he comes with clouds, and all will see him, even those who pierced him. He's not coming back invisibly. Show me a scripture to back up their claims about 1914 you won't because it's not true, yet the Watchtower organization, tells you Jesus return in 1914 in visibly with no scripture to back it up. He told it to another Jehovah Witness, and was brought in front of a judicial committee for apostasy, and was disfellowshipped, and they don't even tell you why they to make you think they committed a gross sin, nothing what the Apostle Paul said in 1cor:5:11 they do that for a reason and the Bible clearly says bear it before the congregation. The scripture clearly shows that they are wrong. I'm going to give you one more scripture that shows to disfellowship like the Watchtower does its so-called Christians are wrong in 1John 1:9 the Apostle John says: if you are faithful to confess your sins, God is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness so if you confess your sins to God and he cleanses you of all unrighteousness who is Mere Men to keep you dirty in that sin buy disfellowshipping you for a whole year judging your repentance, when that's not their job, that's God's job it doesn't say if you confess your sins the Watchtower bible and tract Society is faithful and just enough to forgive you of your sins if they judge you repentant. If God forgives you and cleanse you no man on this Earth to keep you dirty for any length of time I've seen people get disfellowshipped for smoking cigarettes the Bible say we all fall short even the fat Elders who are sitting in judgment of you smoking should be disfellowshipped for gluttony. It's in The Shepherd of the flock book but if that was the case have your elders would be gone Acs:17-11 says they received was the Apostle Paul was teaching with great eagerness yet they searched the Scriptures Daily to see if what the Apostle Paul was teaching lined up with the word of God and we know the Apostle Paul was picked by Jesus himself.

My wife and I recently disassociated from the WTBTS and it's logo "Jehovah's Witnesses" in August of 2019. It was not a hasty decision but on based on the fact that we have 3 disfellowshipped sons and after a couple of years of finally testing whether or not I was actually in the "Truth" or not we decided to cut the cord and continue our pursuit of the True Father that they call Jehovah (which I have learned is an impossibility). One son remains and we are very concerned about how to get him free from the cult mentality.
All 3 of the sons came in a confessed there error and were repentant according to the very Elders that judged then as trash and threw them out to be devoured by the Devil. Again and again the WT states that when someone is repentant it is not always necessary to disfellowship.
Just so I stay attuned with the original statement and comments, yes excommunication was somewhat supported in ancient Israel but it was usually by the accused being stoned to death. And the congregation was really the whole congregation and not just a body of men. And in the Messiahs time here there was the episode where the parents of the man were afraid of being expelled from the synagogue over Yashua (Jesus) healing him if they confessed it actually happened. So there are terms for excommunications but not at the discretion of men whbo are just too busy with company policies to show love and compassion.

Hi. The last thing people need is to be directed to a heavily redacted jw org site. The tragedy is that rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses know far less about their religion's sanitized history than non-JWs. See 1 Thessalonians 5:21 And Proverbs 18:17.

Nowhere in the New Testament did Jesus ever micromanage or shun anyone. He kept no secret books as Watchtower does. The only Jesus Condemned were oppressive hypocritical religious leaders with their many rules.Matthew 23:4,27,28 and 33.

Please Google

"Rutherford Declaration Of Facts",

"Walter Salter's Letter To Joseph Rutherford",

"WT-HISTORY The Man Who Dared Disfellowship Judge Rutherford",

"Watchtower Political And Commercial Involvement",

"Johannes Greber and the New World Translation Bible",

Then try defending Watchtower's shunning policy, a practice they once Condemned.
